Now guys, let's get real, no matter how good is your finished manip, if you
really want it to be "seen" like a photo (and possibly fool everybody :))
at the end you must add noise to it (try to zoom an image of a photo and
you will see what I meen!)
So, the traditional way to do this in photoshop is to:
1 - Fill an empty layer with 50% gray (on top of all others.)
2 - Go to filter-noise-add noise and choose the amount off gaussian noise
you want (a low value about two should do it.)
3 - Then blur this layer a little (filter-blur-gaussian blur), again the
amount varies accordingly to the image.
4 - Change the layer blending mode to hard-light and there you have it...

But... wait, is there a better way to do this? I think so, yes!
The problem with the above method is that it makes hard to choose first the
amount of noise you want, second the places you want it (the noise should
vary in different places of the image, see? ;))

Now a way I think is better to do this is to "again" make use of adjustment
layers (not only this makes it easier to control but saves you the time on
the process, because you don't have to redo all the above steps in case you
aren't happy with the result. So, how to do it?
1 - Add a new layer on the top of the layers pack, fill it with 50% gray and
change it's blending mode to hard light.
2 - Add, for example, a curves adjustment layer on top of this layer.
3 - Change the adjustment layer blending mode to dissolve and it's fill to 50%.
4 - Now tweak the curve of the adjustment as it pleases you.
5 - If you want, add other adjustment layers on top of this (vibrance, for
example, works really nice) and do the same steps as before (change the
blending mode to dissolve and fill to 50%)
6 - In the end merge the gray layer with all the adjustments (shift+click
on all their names to select then ctrl/cmd+e to merge.)
7 - Change the resulting layer's blending mode to hard-light and add the
ammount of gaussian blur you want.

There you have two tips in one :) Hope you enjoy and have fun using it.
